Pharmaceutical
Sieve plates, screens and clean-room panels in 316L — for an industry where the finish matters as much as the hole.
Pharmaceutical work is less about capability than about consistency and documentation. A sieve plate that varies across a production run changes the particle size distribution, and in a validated process that is a deviation rather than an inconvenience.
316L is effectively the default grade. The low-carbon variant resists sensitisation at welds, which matters on fabricated screens and baskets. Surface finish matters too: a rough or burred hole edge holds product and complicates cleaning, so deburring and polishing are specified more often here than in any other sector we serve.
Mumbai and the surrounding belt — Taloja, Tarapur, Ambernath — carry a dense concentration of formulation and API plants, which is why this work sits with the Mumbai unit rather than Pune.
What this sector typically orders
- Sieve and screening platesRound, square and oblong holes to drawing
- Perforated basketsFabricated screens for centrifuges and dryers
- Clean-room panelsPerforated infill and ventilation panels
- Filter screensFine perforation and mesh elements
- Granulator and mill screensSpecified by aperture and thickness
Common questions
- Why 316L rather than 316?
- The lower carbon content resists carbide precipitation at grain boundaries during welding, which would otherwise create a corrosion path at the weld. On any fabricated or welded screen, 316L is the safer specification.
- Can you hold a tolerance on hole size across a batch?
- Yes — CNC perforation holds position and size well across a run. Put the tolerance on the drawing and we will confirm we can hold it before quoting rather than discovering it at inspection.
- Do you deburr?
- On request, and we would recommend it for anything in product contact. A burred hole edge holds residue and makes cleaning validation harder. Say so on the enquiry so it is priced in.
